  8. INTRODUCTION:
  9.  
  10. The Internet Room is a powerful, easy-to-use personal Web site. A
  11. Room lets you use advanced computer technology without knowing a
  12. thing about the Web or computers. If you can type your name, you
  13. can build a Room -- they're that easy. In minutes, you'll be
  14. chatting online, swapping files, posting pictures, or trading
  15. messages with friends around the world in your Room.

  17. REQUIREMENTS:

  19. To set up your Internet Room, you need:
  20.  
  21. * An EarthLink Sprint account. If you don't have an EarthLink
  22.   Sprint account, call (800) 395-8425 
  23. * Windows 95 operating system
  24. * A computer with at least an 80486 DX2 66MHz processor
  25. * At least 8MB of RAM
  26. * Netscape or Internet Explorer 3.02 or higher
  27.  
  28. FREE TRIAL OFFER: 
  29.  
  30. If your computer meets these requirements, you may sign up for a
  31. Room and try it out free for 30 days. (If you haven't done so
  32. already, the Room signup site is located at
  33. <http://www.earthlink.net/room/newmember/>.) After the free month
  34. is complete, you may choose to make your Room permanent for just
  35. $29.95 a year. The Room fee will be billed to your EarthLink
  36. Sprint account; you don't need to send your credit card number.

  38. GETTING STARTED
  39.  
  40. After you've signed up for your FREE 30 day trial Room, before
  41. you can begin using your new Internet Room Web site, you'll first
  42. have to install the Room owner's software on your computer. Below
  43. are the software's installation instructions. If you have a
  44. printer, we encourage you to print out these instructions, then
  45. read through them completely before installation.

  47. ROOM ACCOUNT INFORMATION 
  48.  
  49. Your Room username and password are the same as your EarthLink
  50. Sprint email username and email password. For example if your
  51. email username was johndoe, that means your Internet Room address
  52. would be <http://room.earthlink.net/~johndoe>. Also, in order to
  53. access the OWNER LOG IN sections of the Room you'll have to
  54. enter your EarthLink Sprint email username and email password.
  55.  
  56. STEP 1: CONNECT TO THE INTERNET 
  57. In order to install the Room Software, you must first be
  58. connected to the Internet. First, use the TotalAccess Internet
  59. Dialer to establish an Internet connection as you normally would,
  60. double-clicking the EARTHLINK DIALER icon on your desktop.
  61. Then click CONNECT.

  63. STEP 2: INSTALL INTERNET ROOM SOFTWARE 
  64. Once you're connected to the Net, please insert the TotalAccess
  65. CD ROM into your CD ROM drive. When the message "TotalAccess has
  66. already been installed on your PC. Would you like to continue
  67. anyway?" appears, click NO. Next, click on your Window toolbar
  68. START button, then choose RUN. In the OPEN field, type:
  69.  
  70. (the letter of your CD Drive):\win95\room\oclient.exe
  71.  
  72. For example, if your CD drive is the D drive of your computer,
  73. you would type D:\win95\room\oclient.exe
  74.  
  75. Then just follow the on-screen instructions that appear to
  76. install the software.     
  77. Note: If you can't find the Room installer, click your Windows
  78. START button, select FIND, and choose FILES AND FOLDERS. Type
  79. "oclient.exe" into the NAMED box, and then click FIND NOW. When
  80. the computer is done searching, you can double-click the
  81. program's name to open and install it.

  83. After installing the software, restart your machine. You should
  84. now see a shortcut to your Internet Room on your desktop and a
  85. small Room icon in the right side of your Windows taskbar. (The
  86. Internet Room icon looks like a little computer.)

  88. STEP 3: START USING YOUR ROOM! 
  89. Go to your Internet Room by connecting to the Internet and
  90. entering <http://room.earthlink.net/~yourusername> into your
  91. browser. You can also double-click the Internet Room shortcut or
  92. right-click the Internet Room icon in the Windows taskbar and
  93. select GO TO MY SITE from the pop-up menu.

  95. SUGGESTED NEXT STEPS: 
  96. *  Click the GUIDED TOUR button on your Internet Room's Front
  97. Door for a brief introduction to the many useful features of your
  98. Room. Click the HELP button for more detailed information.

  100. * To personalize your Internet Room, click the OWNER LOG IN
  101. button and enter your EarthLink Sprint email username and
  102. password. Fill in the information about yourself that you want to
  103. publish in your Internet Room.

  105. *  You can use your free trial version of the Internet Room for
  106. 30 days. If you want to keep your Internet Room after that point,
  107. click the BUY YOUR ROOM button on your Room's Front Door page.
